Father's Day Behind Bars

**Again, I realize that all of these posts are very belated, but I want to get the pictures up, so I'm dealing with it.**

Nancy and Jeff came to California for Father's Day this past year.  At the time, we were still living at the Residence Inn down in San Jose, but we met them in up in the city and spent most of their visit in San Francisco.

That Saturday morning Devin and I drove up to SF so I could show him a flat I'd seen the afternoon before.  We got to 83 States Street at 8AM and 15 minutes later we signed a lease and wrote out a deposit check.  (That's how fast the market is here.)  A great weekend followed, enhanced by the fact that we had a place to live!

We took Jeff and Nancy on the Alcatraz tour for Father's Day.  It was such an interesting tour; informative, and a little creepy.

A Wagner Reunion

Over Memorial weekend this year the Wagner clan reunited in Reno, NV.  

To no one's great surprise, we had a blast.

The majority of the family was in attendance; I met three of Devin's cousins for the first time.

We talked, we ate, we played games, and everyone reminisced while looking at old family photos from summer days spent on Cross Lake in Pine City, MN.

It's amazing how stories of a small trailer-type cabin on a lake can evoke such vivid and heart-felt memories.  

Although I missed that period of Wagner life, I am so very happy to be a part of this family now.  Every time we're together - the entire family or just parts of the whole - a fun energy surrounds the group.

If you happen to be a part of it, you can be assured laughter...

The weekend was so very nice.  The effort everyone made to be there was incredible.  The stories were/are fantastic and, in most cases, hilarious.  The great grandchildren are adorable.  The love is palpable.
