Pictures!

20 January - 22 January

Just a few pictures from the week.
Yes, I have pictures from just about every day of Elliot's life...

Nana and Grandpa Jeff gave Elliot this adorable giraffe chair for Christmas this year.

Bath time with Dad!  Our routine is bath, bottle, bed.  I try to hold off on the bath until Devin gets home from work so he can do that part.  Elliot still loves his bath...

On January 21st Elliot had his 2 month vaccination appointment.  Devin needed the car so Elliot and I took a cab!  It was his first cab ride and my first time securing his car seat without the base - I was nervous.  Turns out its very easy and just as safe.

Deep in thought, post shots.  We decided to do them a bit early because our Arizona trip was on the 23rd and I wanted to get them done.

Meeting my friend/coworker/carpool buddy, Kim Williams.  Apparently they each received the blue stripes memo.  And even Yeti made an appearance!

Dearest Cheeks,

You are 8 weeks old!  (Not quite 2 months, which is a strange concept, and we'll leave it at that.)

Smiles.  Somewhat purposeful movement.  Great appetite.  Sleeping in 3 to 4-hour stretches.

You spent a few hours with Telma Escobar (she is the Harkness girls' nanny) last week in the morning before she went to watch Shaila and Navya and it was lovely!  I was able to run a few errands and take stinky Yeti to get a bath.  We're going to make it a weekly thing - 3 hours in the morning, twice a week.  It'll be a great chance for me to have a little break, and we love Telma.  She has been Shaila and Navya's nanny for almost 2 years and I feel so lucky to have her help!

*It's funny to note that when I started your 8 week pictures you had a dry diaper, and by the end, you'd peed - blue line.

We love you so much, Elliot.

A week in pictures.

13 January - 19 January

Elliot's first time wandering around with his Momma.  We were downtown and I took this picture and sent it to Devin to show him that we were out.  He was proud of me and frankly, I was too.  I was still getting used to the extra effort it took to just get out of the house with a newborn.

Elliot, doing his best Grandpa John impression.  (Hiked up pants with a tucked in shirt.)  :)

Hi buddy!

I imagine that when I look back at these pictures I'm going to wonder what in the hell we were thinking with this furniture.  (I guess I already do.)

First nap with Dad.  Love.

xoxo

Elliot,  my sweet Cheeks!

You have filled out and I just love your rolls!  And your cheeks!  Forget about it!  :)  We continue on the breast milk and formula road.  As long as you're healthy, I'm happy.

You became a little more interested with your pacifier this past week, which was new.

You're awake more during the day, but your night sleeping habits haven't changed much - roughly 3 to 4 hour stretches.  You still sleep best when you're swaddled tightly and in your Rock N Play or in Momma's arms.

You continue to amaze me, Small One, and I love watching you grow.

Weekly pictures.

6 January - 12 January

My sleeping baby.  I know I took the picture below to capture his position - Elliot rarely slept like that and I loved it!

First real poop mess = mom fail.  He loved the bath that followed...

My first walk with both Elliot and Yeti on my own!  I was nervous about it, but, because I have the best dog in the world, it was a piece of cake.

Swoon...

Back in November I wrote about five couples (including Devin and me) who were all expecting within a month of each other - here.  One of the couples, Steph and Jarad, had a baby boy a few weeks after Elliot was born.  On January 11th we introduced the boys and walked along a rainy Embarcadero...

Elliot, meet Ben.

Ell and Ben

(This was Ben's first Muni ride!)

A visit to the Ferry Building

Coffee and Plant Cafe

*Elliot and Ben are good buddies - you'll see more of them together when I kick it in gear and get this blog caught up!!

Faux jeans...

We still love you, Rock N Play.

On January 13th Elliot became official.  He can now get a job and pay taxes.  Lucky kid.

My aunt Julie flew across the continent to visit a good friend and to meet Elliot.  (Of note, her son is Elliott, and he is awesome.  I'm happy that my Elliot will have a solid Elliott to look up to.)  Not only was it great to see Julie, but her helping hands were fantastic!

She even babysat for a few hours so Devin and I could go out for a date!  We walked down the street to Canela and had a wonderful dinner and soaked up each other's company.

The weeks go by quickly, don't they?

xoxo
